26 August 2010

you're my pride and joy etc...

i'm in a slump.

i've been focusing a lot of energy on getting my husbands store (www.arealamericantoystore.com - coming 10-01-10) and not focusing much energy and getting some more projects done for mine. i feel so slack.

if you're reading this, what do you use for inspiration?

16 August 2010

i'm fighting with the decoupage. nothing really accomplished. oh well, at least i blogged!

15 August 2010

this train is bound for glory...

i am such a slack ass. i will work on some stuff today to see what i can accomplish.at least i am not due back to work until tuesday. i wish i could have 4 day weekends EVERY weekend.

the husband is awake... YAY! now i can put music on at a decent sound level!!!

i will post tomorrow and let you know if i accomplished anything.

routine

every weekend i spend several hours online while i wait for jay to get up. i've decided to put that time to good use and blog. yes yes yes i know i've said it before but i'm really committed to the idea this time. and yes i know i've that that before too.

i have a 4 day weekend next week and i will most definitely post at least two of those days.

i've been stumbling through the internet a lot lately. i find it to be a relaxing and enjoyable way to pass the time online.

on the toy front: poc has hit the stores. we picked up a storm shadow, a cobra commander, and an alley viper. the alley viper is the shit, but storm shadow comes with some of the most bad ass accessories ever!!! we have yet to find a doom cycle but i have faith that we will.

i've started reading the original marvel run of the g.i. joe comics. i'm somewhere around #35. they are fun to read.

one last thing before i go for now: i love our tripod. we bought a joby gorillapod slr tripod on clearance at walmart the other week for like 20 bucks and it was totally worth it and more! jay's pictures have improved ten thousand fold. he always had a good guy but had a lot of trouble with getting our camera to realize his vision. i would definitely say that if you take pictures of inanimate object, you should really get a tripod.

thats all i guess for now.

i'm going on vacation soon. i hope it will assist me with some renewed zest.

13 April 2010

i'm so terrible about updating.

if i knew that anyone ever read this it might help, but possibly not.

lately i've been trying to focus on working on making myself better. eating better, living better, working better...

i got married a few weeks ago.

i am setting up a plan for blogging, going to try to set aside time starting 3 times a week to update and working from there so i'm updating more. this is my first post this week.

i will post again on thursday and then on saturday.

lets see if i keep my word on this :)

money is always an issue

don't complain unless you're willing to try to do something about it. it pisses me off to hear you whine when the answer is so easy. no i'm not going to do it for you.

listening to elvis costello trying to formulate a plan to better myself.

25 February 2010

getting in the swing of things. forget to post at night a lot. and then put it off during the day. got some neat ideas running through me brain. i just wish i had more time. soo ready for the weekend. i may build a blanket fort and hide out with my jewelry and a flashlight.

20 February 2010

i don't wanna end up like this guy so i've decided to get back to blogging. things got a little crazy around here over the last couples of months. january was terrible, culminating in my grandfather's death on 01/31. february has thus far been something. starting out with the funeral and me being really down. spent a lot of time those first couple of weeks working on a really cool cross-stitch that i have now neglected for at least a week (pictures later in this post). i was made permanent at work officially as of monday, i also quit smoking that day. i had promised myself that if i got made permanent i would quit. that caused more craziness/depression the first part of this week and now, it seems, i can finally relax and get back to normal. i made my first 2 sales ever this month, which is awesome. hope to have more things up soon.

so now that we're all caught up, lemme show ya a few things:

my super duper awesome cross-stitch

it's source material

if you haven't listened to this, do yourself a favor and listen now!
and then take a moment to appreciate this.

03 January 2010

haven't posted in a while

i lost my steam again. trying to make blogging into a habit. i want to share with you this quote from neil gaiman, spoken this most recent new years eve at his girlfriend's show with the boston pops. his girlfriend, in case you didn't know, is amanda palmer of the dresden dolls.

"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.

...I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you'll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you'll make something that didn't exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind."

i thought that it was quite lovely.
